40th District Court
The 40th District Court is located in St. Clair Shores on Jefferson Ave., across from St. Clair Shores City Hall. They have a 24-hour drop-box for court fees.
The Assessing Department is the first link in the property tax revenue chain. The Assessor's responsibility is the discovery, listing, and valuation of all properties within the assessing jurisdiction. The primary purpose of the Assessing Department is to estimate the fair market value, or "true cash value," of all real and personal property located within the City of St. Clair Shores.
The Office of the City Clerk is a primary point of contact for the public and strives to provide the highest quality of service to the community. The City Clerk is keeper of all documents and records pertaining to the city, including ordinances, resolutions, and actions of City Council, as well as administering elections to ensure the integrity of the electoral process.
City Manager's Office
The City Manager's Office is responsible for the executive management of the day-to-day operations of the City of St Clair Shores. The City Manager provides leadership, vision, and direction to all employees to accomplish the goals and objectives of the City Council and our residents.
The Communications Department serves the public by relaying official information from the government of St. Clair Shores. Using a full range of communications tools and techniques, the department keeps the residents of St. Clair Shores informed about the actions of the city government and activities that impact the quality of life in our community.
Community Development & Inspections
The Community Development and Inspections Department (CDI) is the home of several smaller departments including building, planning, engineering, code enforcement and more.
The Finance Department's mission is to build and maintain internal staff support, enabling City departments to serve the residents effectively and efficiently. Its goals include providing high-quality, proactive, coordinated services to operating departments while protecting the City's legal and financial interests.
The SCS Fire Department responds to emergency calls throughout the city.
The St. Clair Shores Public Library offers a variety of in-person and online resources.
