CITY TIGHTENS OPERATIONS PER MDHHS EPIDEMIC ORDER
In order to provide the safest environment for our employees and residents, ensure the ability to continue providing services and ensure compliance with the latest orders from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Epidemic Order, MDHHS (11/15/2020), the City of St. Clair Shores is instituting the following operational changes:
CITY HALL:
- Effective Thursday, November 19, 2020, the front (west) entrance to City Hall is closed until
further notice. Visitors may use the back (east) parking lot entrance to City Hall.
- No more than ten (10) people may conduct business in the lobby of City Hall at one time. The City encourages residents to pay City bills online or drop off payments in the white mailbox in front of City Hall or use the USPS.
LIBRARY:
- Public Service Hours (November 23 - December 9):
Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Friday and Saturday 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- The Library Reading Lounge/Used Book Shop, the Local History Center and Selinsky Green Farmhouse Museum closed until further notice.
- Study and meeting rooms are not available for public use.
- In-person programming, events, group gatherings, meetings, and activities among non-household members are prohibited.
- Curbside Library Service is available:
Monday-Thursday 10:00 a.m.- Noon and 3:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m.
Friday-Saturday 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Curbside appointments are also available throughout the day.
- Internet computer reservations available for residents only:
Monday-Thursday 9:30 a.m.; 11:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Friday and Saturday 1:30 p.m. 3:00 p.m.
- Library building capacity is limited to 25%, including the public and staff.
PARKS & RECREATION:
The following buildings/activities are closed or canceled:
- Senior Activity Center
- Fitness Center
- All group classes, including those held at the Blossom Heath Launch and Beach House)
- Ice Arenas
- Blood Pressure checks
- Medicare Mondays with Beth
The following activities will continue:
- Meals for curbside pick-up.
- SMART transportation to medical appointments and shopping. The capacity of each bus is limited.
- Golf Course… regular fall operation
- Parks & Recreation Office is open with limited hours:
Monday-Saturday 8:30 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.
Closed Sunday
Closed Thursday, November 26—Saturday, November 28
The Parks & Recreation Department is also working with the St. Clair Shores Activities Committee to bring you a COVID-safe Christmas Tree Lighting. Stayed tuned for an update on City events.
The City encourages all residents to continue practicing social distancing, wear masks, and follow the health and safety protocols recommended by the MDHHS.
