BUILDING A PROPER SANDBAG BARRIER

...FROM THE EMERGENCY MANAGMENT TEAM: The use of sandbags is a simple, but effective way to prevent or reduce flood damage, Properly filled and placed, sandbags can act as a barrier to divert moving water around, instead of through buildings. The Army Corps of Engineers brochure below gives guidelines on filling and building a sandbag barrier.
