The fantastic new pier at Blossom Heath Park is one of the countless improvements St. Clair Shores has made since becoming a city in 1951. But how does the city know which improvements to make? That's where you come in.
The city is surveying the public for new ideas and input to their Master Plan, a document and policy guide designed to help communities shape their future. Every community has a plan to reference while making decisions on land use development and preservation, and it's essential to update these plans as the community evolves.
The City of St. Clair Shores last updated its master plan in 2016, but recently, the City Council approved an initiative to review its ideas this year.
Through July, residents and visitors are encouraged to complete a survey letting the city know what they value about the community and what they think needs improvements. The survey includes questions about the city's parks, recreation programs, and facilities. This public input directly shapes the plan's outcome, so hearing public voices is essential.
Anyone can access the survey on a phone or tablet through the city's website or via a QR code on lawn signs throughout the city. Find hard copies of the survey at City Hall from the Community Development Department or call 586-447-3340.
We want to hear from you! Your voice has the power to shape the future of St. Clair Shores. Please take a moment today to visit www.scsmi.net/survey, complete the survey, and let us know your thoughts.
